There are 19 categories available for entry and you may enter a maximum of three categories. Choose a category that reflects your business and tailor your answers to each category.

Both self-nominations of your business and the nominations of other businesses are accepted.

Eligibility:

To be considered eligible for an award, nominees must:

 

  1. Be a female founder, CEO, partner, or shareholder in the business
  2. Come from a Muslim background
  3. Have the business based in the United Kingdom
  4. Demonstrate excellence in business through the integration of best practices
  5. Have been trading for the last 6 months.

MICRO BUSINESS OF THE YEAR

This category will recognize a business operating as a sole trader or with up to 10 employees. They will demonstrate excellence in all areas of the business and possess superior abilities in multi-tasking.

SME BUSINESS OF THE YEAR

The winner in this category will be the best female owned small or medium business with more than 10 employees. Candidates should demonstrate consistent growth and staff development since launch.

START-UP BUSINESS OF THE YEAR

This award celebrates a business that has taken a brave leap and launched a start-up with a bang. The business will have been established within the last 24 months subsequently experiencing dramatic growth and progress.

GROWING BUSINESS OF THE YEAR

This award will go to a business where bold, new business models or ground-breaking innovative products or services have created growth, despite the pandemic and the current tough economic climate.

FAMILY BUSINESS OF THE YEAR

This category is open to any family business regardless of sector or size. The business must be owned and operated by two or more members of a single-family, carrying on the legacy of a family enterprise.

BUSINESS EMPOWERING WOMEN OF THE YEAR

Consider this category for businesses that provide a platform to empower and strengthen other women in the community, a female-oriented cause, or the businesses of other women.

DIGITAL BUSINESS OF THE YEAR

Businesses that operate purely online, are eligible for this award. The business will not have a storefront but use digital to market, sell, and promote its products or services. The award will celebrate superior skills in the use of digital channels to engage customers, innovation in web design and functionality, and growth in audience over time.

PROFESSIONAL SERVICES BUSINESS OF THE YEAR

This category welcomes businesses that provide professional services of any kind to its clients. The business will demonstrate excellence in the professional services sector and deliver outstanding customer service.

10 YEARS RUNNING CELEBRATION OF THE YEAR

Nominations are invited for a business that has been running successfully for 10 consecutive years. In that time, the business will have shown growth in turnover, an increase in products and services, and an expansion in its workforce.

FASHION BUSINESS OF THE YEAR

This award will celebrate a British fashion business that has made an impact through creativity in product design, sustainability initiatives, customer experience and successful campaigns.

BEAUTY BUSINESS OF THE YEAR

The businesses eligible for this award will be crafting a name in the world of beauty products, ideas, activities, and services. This could include cosmetics, skin care, hair care, and sun care products and services.

HEALTH & WELLNESS BUSINESS OF THE YEAR

The award in this category will go to a business that promotes consumer health products, services, activities, and inspirational ideas in the health, fitness, and wellbeing sectors.

Food & Beverage Business of the Year

This award is for the businesswomen who have started or established a food/bakery or beverage business. You could be running your business from home, a café, a restaurant, or simply catering for other outlets.

SOCIAL MEDIA BUSINESS OF THE YEAR

Nominees for this category will be social media influencers, bloggers or YouTubers who have generated revenue using their personal brand to create successful campaigns.

CREATIVE BUSINESS OF THE YEAR

Nominees in this category will have experienced success in the arts and creative industries. The winning business will demonstrate passion, creativity, and an ability to turn talent into the business.

YOUNG BUSINESSWOMAN OF THE YEAR

The winner, in this case, will be a young businesswoman of 18 to 24 years who has demonstrated creativity and vision in her business. We are looking for someone who is a calculated risk-taker, an innovator and who is already making a profit.

BUSINESSWOMAN OF THE YEAR

Nominations are invited for the best female-owned business or a female who has had a positive impact on a business. The winner will demonstrate an exceptional drive to succeed.

SOCIAL ENTERPRISE OF THE YEAR

This award celebrates a business that applies commercial strategies to maximize social impact and achieve great things in society. All profit from a social enterprise is reinvested in the community, other small businesses, local charities, schools, local councils and residents.

FROM ADVERSITY TO GROWTH BUSINESS OF THE YEAR

The winner in this category is a clear survivor or fighter. She has fought social or personal adversity and rebuilt her life through creating a successful business.

BUSINESS OF THE YEAR

The judges will select a business of the year based on a range of criteria.
